The trial of two men charged with the murder of Lenny Scott is underway. Elias Morgan and Anthony Cleary are charged with the murder of dad-of-three Mr Scott, who was 33 when he was shot outside a gym on Peel Road in Skelmersdale on February 8 last year. Mr Scott, from Prescot, died of serious gunshot injuries in hospital soon after. Morgan, 35, and of Highgate Street, and Cleary, 29, and of Smithdown Lane, both of Edge Hill, were charged in June 2024 with the alleged offence.

P&O's flagship in its extensive fleet has docked in Liverpool. The enormous P&O Britannia cruise ship, which can carry up to 3,647 guests and 1,350 crew, arrived earlier today, Sunday, June 15 and will remain in the city overnight. The cruise ship, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, is currently touring the UK as part of a nationwide search for unsung heroes for the Pride of Britain Awards. The search will kick off tomorrow, Monday, at a pop-up event in Liverpool ONE.

Buddhist devotees from around the region gathered in Liverpool this weekend to mark Poson Poya. Hundreds gathered for a day of celebration on one of the most important dates in the calendar for the Sri Lankan community. The Sri Sambuddha Vihara temple in Croxteth was adorned with colourful lanterns and decorations whilst hundreds gathered to watch as a huge illuminated structure depicting the Buddha was lit up with 18 000 lights.
