One person is dead after a wall collapsed in the White Pond Reserve development under construction in West Akron, authorities confirmed this afternoon. There did not appear to be any other injuries, they said. Lt. Michael Murphy Jr., public information officer for the Akron Police Department, said "our hearts go out" to those affected by what appeared to be an accident at the site. The Summit County Medical Examiner's office said it has investigators at the scene. This is a developing story.
