June 6 (UPI) -- A federal judge temporarily paused President Donald Trump's ban on foreign nationals coming to study, teach, or do research at Harvard University, pending a hearing later in June. U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs' ruling Thursday night came after Harvard filed a suit in Boston alleging Trump's proclamation, issued a day earlier, was unlawful because it violated the First Amendment.

June 5 (UPI) -- At least five people were killed, including a child, and 28 injured after Russian forces launched more than 100 drones, guided bombs and missiles against seven Ukrainian regions overnight. All of the fatalities occured in the northern city of Pryluky, a city of 51,500 people 90 miles east of Kyiv, where attack drones set residential areas on fire and razed houses, according to the the State Emergency Service.

June 5 (UPI) -- Israel said Thursday it had recovered the remains of two Israeli-American hostages in a military operation overnight in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a post on X that the bodies of Gadi Haggai, 72, and Judy Weinstein-Haggai, 70, had been returned to their families in Israel 20 months after they were killed in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on southern Israel and taken back to Gaza.
