Doncaster Knights have appointed Darren Fearn as their new head coach. Fearn has been promoted from his position as forwards coach following the departure of Joe Ford. Ford, who joined Doncaster in 2022 and was promoted to head coach a year later, has taken up a new role as attack coach with the Premiership side.

Doncaster Town won a thrilling game against fellow high flyers Sheffield Collegiate to go second in the YCSPL Premier Division table. Town reached their revised target of 176 off 44 overs with just four balls to spare. Bhargav Merai anchored the run chase with 64 before Joe Gallagher struck an unbeaten 31 to guide his team home. Doncaster Rovers Belles have been given a reprieve from relegation and will remain in FA Women's National League Division One North. Belles finished in the drop zone last season after a miserable campaign saw them win just four games out of 22. Under normal circumstances Belles – two-time national champions and six-time Women’s FA Cup winners – would have lost their National League status and dropped into the regionalised fifth tier of the game.

Doncaster Town lost to Wakefield Thornes in a top-of-the-table clash in the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League. Both teams went into Saturday’s game at Town Fields having won four out of four in the Premier Division. But it was the visitors who edged a low-scoring affair to win by 30 runs and maintain their perfect record. Wakefield batted first and collapsed from 148-5 to 166 all out as Warren Graca claimed 2-34 and Joe Gallagher took 3-35.

Doncaster Town made it three wins out of three in the YCSPL Premier Division with a comfortable 124-run victory at home to Hallam. Harsha Rajapaksha was the star of the show, making an unbeaten 124 off 106 balls to guide Town to 291-7 in 50 overs. Bhargav Merai (46) and Joe Gallagher (46) also made useful contributions with the bat. Hallam lost wickets at regular intervals in reply as they slipped to 167 all out. Merai, James Dobson, Denson Narayan and Jaden Fell claimed two wickets apiece.

Doncaster Rovers Belles given a reprieve from relegation and remain in FA Women's National League Division One North (tier 4)

We can now confirm the Women’s Football Pyramid club allocations for Tiers 1-6 for the 2025-26 season.

Season 2024/25 filed under 'what might have been' for Doncaster Knights. They've ended the campaign with 12 straight wins in all comps and finished third in the Championship. With play-offs re-introduced, the expectation will be for a genuine push for the Premiership next term.

Credit where it's due, the quality of @YorkshireCCC's live streaming service really has improved no end. Very slick. Better with BBC comms it has to be said. Even better still when Bumble's on!
