Aerial view as regional pool comes downStunning new pictures offering an incredible aerial view of the progress being made with the demolition of the Peterborough Regional Pool. The bird’s eye view has been ‘snapped’ by photographer Jim Mack using a drone to fly over the pool’s site, off Bishop’s Road. The photographs show the giant machinery being used to knock down the pool buildings and to flatten the site.

Staff at the Woodgreen Animal Shelter are warning cat owners in Peterborough to be aware of the legal requirement for the pets to be microchipped. The alarm has been sounded just days ahead of the first anniversary – June 10 – of compulsory cat microchipping. From last year it became a legal requirement under the Microchipping of Cats and Dogs (England) Regulations 2023.

Demand for more ‘visible’ policing in cityCambridgeshire’s top cop is to stand down after seven years as head of the county’s police force. Nick Dean, the Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary, has announced he will retire from the service in September. A police spokesperson said: “Chief Constable Nick Dean’s contract has come to an end and he will be leaving in September.”Mr Dean was appointed Chief Constable in September 2018.
