Today, killer Richard Satchwell will be sentenced for the 2017 murder of his wife, Tina Satchwell, in Youghal, Co Cork. Tina, 44, went missing on March 20, 2017 and during the recent murder trial at Dublin's Central Criminal Court heard from a Dr Niamh McCullagh who has a PHD in the study of clandestine burials. Based on her investigations, Dr. McCullagh submitted to Detective Inspector Twomey that it was most likely that Tina Satchwell never left her home after March 19, 2017.

Richard Satchwell has been found guilty of the murder of his wife Tina. A jury of seven women and five men spent nine hours and 28 minutes deliberating before coming to the unanimous verdict today - following a five-week trial at Dublin's Central Criminal Court. UK native Satchwell, 58, who has been in custody for the duration of his trial, now faces the mandatory life sentence - of which the average person spends at least 20 years.
