Few people as versatile and talented as @MaayanSchechter. She's doing it all, and always with class and good humor.

I deal with anxiety, and I know I'm not alone in that — especially during this pandemic. It's so important to talk about it and to end the stigma around mental health issues. It affects millions, if not billions, of people. You can't move forward unless you acknowledge the issue.

@LynRiddle1 is back in SC! Many know Lyn's incredible body of work from her time at @GreenvilleNews. She's been in California the past few years so we are happy to have her come back home to work with @thestate while based in Greenville.

Also new to the statehouse team -- @CLaurenMyers. Christina has statehouse experience with @AP and is one of the finest to come out of @UofSC.

Also coming to Myrtle Beach will be @chasekaracostas. Chase is coming from Texas and will be a part of the new statewide team as well. Chase will concentrate on the tourism and entertainment industries for @TheSunNews.

@jen_farhat will soon be covering the South Strand for @TheSunNews. Jenna interned at our sister paper in Wichita and is a new grad of @WichitaState.

Our projects team is growing with the addition of @ChiaraEisner. Chiara is an investigative journalist who has collaborated with @MarshallProj, @WIRED and @TheEconomist among others. She will start in September and be based in Columbia.

@MaryCaitlinByrd will be @thestate's new enterprise reporter based in Charleston, where she's been covering politics for the @postandcourier. Caitlin will be part of our new statewide team. She will start in September.
