A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital after he was shot in the legArmed police were called to the scene of a shooting after a man was shot in the leg. The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries. The incident happened on Windsor Road, Tuebrook, at around 6.45pm. Police say it was reported that two men dressed in black with their faces covered left the area on a bike shortly after the shooting.

A road has been cordoned off by Merseyside Police following an 'ongoing incident' Windsor Road, Tuebrook, is currently closed with a number of police cars inside the cordon. The ECHO was told at the scene that the incident happened between 7pm and 7.30pm.. Our reporter Emily Carubia is at the scene and will be providing updates. She said she can see six police cars on the quiet residential road and two crime scene investigation vans. Two more police vans are located on Albert Road.

Firefighters are dealing with a fire that has spread from a garage to three houses. A number of vehicles have also been impacted by the fire that happened on Priory Close, Burscough. Eight fire engines are in attendance at the scene and we have a reporter on their way. A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 07:20 on 14 April 2025, eight fire engines attended an outbuilding fire on Priory Close, Burscough.

The northbound carriage of the M6 has been closed due to a lorry fire. The motorway has been closed between junction 22 (Winwick) and junction 23 (Haydock) since just before 3am due to the fire. The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours as emergency services deal with the incident. Diversions have been put in place for people travelling in the area.
