Three phone numbers have been provided by the Foreign OfficeThe Foreign Office has updated advice about India after an Air India flight crashed when departing from Ahmedabad shortly after 9am BST. Fifty-three British nationals were on board the flight which crashed after take-off. Photos from the scene of the crash show the scale of the challenge faced by rescue workersAn Air India flight crashed shortly after taking off, with it being confirmed there were 53 British nationals on board. The Air India AI171 flight flight was departing from Ahmedabad airport with 242 people onboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the airline said. The airline said 169 passengers are Indian nationals, 53 are British, one is Canadian and seven are Portuguese.

People in the building had to be rescued from windows and balconiesFifty people have been rescued after a large fire at a block of flats. Firefighters were called to a four-story block of flats on Marsh House Lane, Warrington, after a fire in the stairwell. People in the building had to be rescued from windows and balconies of the third and fourth floor as firefighters tackled the blaze. A large emergency services presence rushed to the scene just before 5.30pm.

There is a large emergency service presence in attendance after reports of a flat fire. Marsh House Lane in Warrington is closed after a fire at a residential property. Jawad Mahmood witnessed the incident. He told the ECHO that there are around 10 fire engines in attendance. Our reporter is on his way to the scene now.

Police say the 16-year-old is in a stable condition in hospitalA teenager is in hospital after suffering a stab wound to the arm and chest. Merseyside Police were following reports of males fighting with knives in Halewood at around 7.50pm on Tuesday (May 27). Officers arrived to New Hutte Lane and a cordon was put in place following the incident. The 16-year-old is in a stable condition in hospital.
