A Delaware County prison inmate has been charged with an unprovoked assault on a correctional officer. Rashan Graves, 35, Linwood, was charged May 23 with two counts of aggravated assault as well as aggravated assault by a prisoner. Darby Township has closed down one of their 2 remaining fire companies. The Township placed Goodwill Fire Company out of service Thursday due to the company’s all volunteer membership’s inability to respond to service calls with fully trained and certified operators and engineers, the township said in a press release.

A teenager on a scooter going the wrong way was injured when he was struck by a motorist on State Road in Upper Darby. The 14-year-old victim from Aldan was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with a leg injury. According to a report from Upper Darby police Lt. Daniel Oliveri:Officers responded Saturday about 1:45 p.m. to the 1700 block of South State Road for a pedestrian struck.

A Chester police officer has been placed on administrative leave following an arrest Tuesday in which he was recorded striking the suspect. Chester Interim Police Commissioner Katrina Blackwell said in a press release late Tuesday that Officer Michael Brodzinski was being placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of a comprehensive investigation. The incident stems from a traffic stop that occurred about 2:30 p.m. in the area of 700 W. Second St. in the city.

Prospect Park police are searching for a Ridley Park man and a second subject in burglaries in a number of Delaware County laundromats. A warrant has been issued for Joseph J. Casey, 29, of the 100 block of South Swarthmore Avenue on burglary and theft charges. According to the criminal complaint filed by Officer Kyle Gross and Officer Samuel Willis:On Monday morning a burglary was discovered at the A&W Laundromat in the 900 block of Lincoln Avenue.
