LOS ANGELES – Discreetly, Ryan Yarbrough picked up his 2024 World Series ring this weekend. The veteran lefty was a Los Angeles Dodger until last summer’s MLB trade deadline, and he was a Toronto Blue Jay until the penultimate day of spring training this year. On Sunday, the soft-tossing, side-arming Yarbrough was the Yankees’ best weapon against Shohei Ohtani and the defending world champs at Dodger Stadium.

LOS ANGELES - Yankees left fielder Jasson Dominguez exited Sunday's game at Dodger Stadium due to a left thumb contusion. Dominguez was injured on a slide at second base, following a successful stolen base in the fifth inning. He eventually scored on DJ LeMahieu's RBI single to left. The switch-hitting outfielder played defensively in the Dodgers' half of the fifth, but was lifted for pinch-hitter Cody Bellinger (who was hit by a pitch) in the sixth, with the Yankees leading 6-1.
