CARMEL -- An incident at a home in Carmel ended peacefully after authorities say a man threatened his family with an axe. The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office responded to the home on the Five Road in Carmel for a report of a family fight Monday night. According to the sheriff's office, 44-year-old Eugene Woodard tried to force his way inside the home, telling family members inside that he would break down the door. Woodard had previously been issued a criminal trespass notice at that property.

The "Armed Forces Crisis Intervention Notification Act" would require the U.S. Military to use state crisis intervention laws, such as Maine's 'Yellow Flag Law', when a service member poses a serious threat to themselves or others.

ROCKPORT -- A Union man is in jail after allegedly assaulting hospital staff on two separate occasions. According to Rockport Police Sgt. James Moore, 56-year-old Webster Robinson was being treated at Pen Bay Medical Center on August 28 when he attempted to leave the hospital against the advice of medical staff. Robinson allegedly punched a nurse in the throat when she tried to assist him. He was taken to the Knox County Jail and released the same day after posting bail.

SIDNEY -- It's a cautionary tale and a stark reminder to all drivers about just how many dangers we face on the road. A Fairfield woman was heading south on I-95 in her Dodge Charger Tuesday morning when a near disaster struck. "I thought that was going to be the end and I wasn't going to be here to tell this story," she said.
