WESLEY - One person died and 3 others were injured after a crash in Washington County. Hancock County Sheriff's Lt. Dakota Dupuis says a little after 6:30 Saturday night a deputy was conducting traffic enforcement on Route 9 in Aurora when he saw a vehicle with mechanical defects traveling in the oncoming lane above the posted speed. Dupuis says the deputy attempted to stop the car and it came to a brief stop before the driver accelerated rapidly and fled.

AUGUSTA - A consumer protection bill aimed at helping people buying event tickets has passed committee in the Maine Legislature. Senate President Mattie Daughtry sponsored the bill which she says would regulate speculative ticket sales and the deceptive use of URLs and bots to circumvent online sales limitations. She says the bill would also guarantee price transparency by requiring event ticket sellers to clearly disclose all fees upfront.

READFIELD -- Two people died after a vehicle crashed into a tree and burst into flames. Kennebec County Sheriff Chief Deputy Chris Read say it happened on Main Street in Readfield just before 1am on Monday. Read says it is believed the SUV is the same vehicle is the same one that passed a state trooper on the North Road in Readfield earlier traveling in excess of 70 miles per hour.

EXETER--Emergency crews from several communities were called to the scene of a bad fire in Exeter. The call for help went out just after 6:30 Monday night. The first crews on the scene discovered a mobile home on the Stetson road was fully engulfed in flames. The roadway was shut down as fire crews worked to bring water to the scene. A small army of forty fire fighters from neighboring towns all joined the attack. There are no injuries reported and it's still unclear what started the fire.

ELLSWORTH -- 8 people were displaced after a fire in Ellsworth over the weekend. It happened at a two story, multi family dwelling at 99 Oak Street on Saturday. City of Ellsworth spokesperson Maura Condon says a fire in the basement apartment kitchen was caused by Unatttended cooking. She says a sprinkler system contained it from spreading any further. According to Condon there was fire and smoke damage in the kitchen and significant water damage from the sprinkler activation.
