By Fraser Clyne ResultsJamie Crowe claimed his first Scottish Half Marathon title after storming to an impressive victory in one most competitive races in the 40 year history of the Inverness Half event. Edinburgh AC athlete Nancy Scott followed up her National XC silver medal with gold in the women’s race. The men’s outcome was in doubt throughout as a large group of runners forced the pace in the Highland capital.

Key Info The 4J National Open returns to the Emirates Arena for the first time in two years this weekend. Redevelopment work on the Glasgow venue last year for the World Indoors put paid to our usual home for the 4J Indoor Season. But we are thrilled to be back up running, jumping and throwing again and entry numbers for events at the Emirates suggest there is huge enthusiasm for competition.

Following the successful launch of this initiative last year, the Hill Running Commission are again organising a range of Come Try U13 Training sessions across Scotland on Saturday 1 March. Hill running is a friendly, exciting and challenging sport, perfect for developing strength, balance and agility which are important in all athletic disciplines. No previous experience is needed to take part, so if you have ever wondered what hill running is all about, why not give it a go?

Scotland teams have been named for an ultra running international coming up in May. Athletes compete over 100k at the Anglo Celtic Plate event which will take place on Saturday 3 May in Leicester. Runners will contest the 100k on the motor racing circuit where one lap is 4.782km (so they will race 20.72 laps).
