A Sacramento man was sentenced on Tuesday to 12 years in prison for his part in a $38 million catalytic converter theft ring. The Department of Justice said 33-year-old Tou Sue Vang of Sacramento was sentenced for transporting thousands of stolen catalytic converters across state lines, along with laundering money and other crimes.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCRA) - A California woman is mourning the loss of her dog, and she says a postal carrier is to blame for its death. It happened in early April. Aranza Gutierrez said her dog, a Yorkie-schnauzer mix, got out while she was collecting the trash. A garage camera shows the moment her dog runs out of the home and toward a U.S. Postal worker, barking. The mail carrier puts the mail bag in between them, yells at the dog while putting mail in the mailbox and then keeps walking.

A Natomas woman is sharing her heartbreak after her 9-year-old Yorkie Schnauzer mix died, and she's blaming a United States Postal Service mail carrier for its death. The dog's owner, Aranza Gutierrez, admits her dog got out while they were collecting their trash, but she said it never should've ended the way that it did. “He was so small. So, just to think that this heavy rock, she like threw it with force at his head, is just insane,” Gutierrez said.

The family of a woman who was shot and killed one week ago says she died protecting her sister. Tiera Rivers was 26 years old when she died. The shooting happened on Saturday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. inside an apartment complex in Sacramento where Tiera had been living with her older sister, Amber Rivers. Amber told sister station KCRA 3 that Tiera walked in on an argument between her and her ex-boyfriend on that Saturday afternoon. “Me and my son's dad got into an argument,” Amber said.
