As the summer approaches, residents in some parts of Leamington and Whitnash are preparing for a huge increase in the "nightmarish" invasion of flies that are ruining their lives. Over the past two years, we have been covering the ongoing horrors that people have faced with foul odours and flies in areas of Leamington, Whitnash, Warwick Gates, Heathcote and Warwick. The problems happen all year round but the heat of the summer months exacerbate the issue.

A specially-built area where residents and visitors can play pétanque has officially opened in a well-loved Market Harborough park. Chairman of Harborough District Council Cllr Peter James was joined by members of local pétanque groups and the president of Central Pétanque Association, on behalf of Pétanque England, on Thursday May 29 when he declared the new pétanque piste in Welland Park open.

A once overgrown eyesore has now been officially unveiled as a welcoming greenspace near Harborough town centre for everyone to enjoy. Market Harborough’s Friendship Park, off Northampton Road near Harborough Market, was officially opened to the public today (Thursday May 29) and is designed for people to sit in and talk to each other.
