BBC wildlife expert Bruce Miller endured a life-altering ordeal when he suffered brain damage from a climbing accident in the West Country. The 28 year old, who was working as a researcher for the broadcaster's Natural History Unit, had a horrifying fall while on an expedition in Avon Gorge, Somerset, on July 13, 2024. Bruce experienced every climber's nightmare when his equipment failed, sending him cascading down 30 feet from a cliffside.

A lucky player has scooped up the £5.2 million jackpot in Wednesday's National Lottery Lotto draw. The winning numbers pulled were 27, 36, 39, 48, 57, 59 with the bonus number being 45. An additional 29 players each pocketed £1,750 by matching five out of the six main numbers. Sadly, no ticket-holders hit the mark for five numbers plus the bonus to claim the £1 million prize.
