The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has been making unsuccessful attempts to close the Men's Central Jail and providing alternatives to incarceration for over a decade. On Tuesday, they are scheduled to hear an update from the Jail Closure Implementation Team. FOX 11 visited the Men's Central Jail (MCJ) last year. Built in 1963, the facility shows its age and is widely criticized as outdated and unsafe.

After a 10-day manhunt, rogue cop Christopher Dorner is cornered in a cabin in the popular resort community of Big Bear, California. A shootout with law enforcement would leave another deputy dead. Law enforcement used special gas canisters to try and remove Dorner and end the siege. With the cabin in flames and law enforcement closing in, a coroner's report showed that Dorner put a gun to his own head. First came the Manifesto, then the Manhunt.

The search is on for at least two suspects after a dog was allegedly abducted from the arms of its owner at a North Hollywood 7-Eleven on Monday, Sept. 25, around midnight, according to officials. The owner was allegedly approached by two suspects at the 7-Eleven on Burbank Boulevard. Cell phone video showed one of the alleged suspects knocking the owner down and wrestling the dog away. The owner was seen attempting to fight off the suspect, grabbing at his legs.
