A man who stole more than £1,200 worth of goods from Marks & Spencer in East Grinstead has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order. Jamie Hendey, 31, of London Road targeted the store on 11 separate occasions between the 12th of April and the 18th of May, taking alcohol and meat. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment, suspended for 18 months.

The charity is asking for the city’s dogs to come forward. Arun Veterinary Group has partnered with the charity and is looking for donor dogs to attend its first session on Sunday, 15th of June. To become a donor, your dog must weigh more than 25kg, be between the ages of 1 and 8, and be fit and healthy. It is also important that your dog is confident and enjoys meeting new people and having new experiences.

Brian Acott, who was 79, from Fittleworth, was sentenced in 2016 after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm. He died on the 17th of September 2024. An investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman concluded that Acott died of natural causes. The Report from the PPO detailed his history and time spent in prison: On 19 June 1995, Mr Brian Acott was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder of his mother.

34-year-old Aaron Moth from Yapton and Sean Owen, 36, from Worthing admitted to conspiring to steal the vehicles by hacking the key fob signals. Moth was jailed for two years and four months, while Owen received a one-year suspended sentence. Over a period of more than a year, they targeted Land Rovers in particular, with the aim of selling the vehicles onwards. Evidence showed they were targeting many vehicles across West Sussex and into Hampshire.

The Cockapoo has now died from his injuries. The rider, a 59-year-old local man, suffered serious injuries after colliding with a stationary car at the West Sands caravan park on Mill Lane.
