Militant associate held with grenades in Pulwama amid attack threat, says police

Pulwama: Police officials in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a militant associate on Tuesday, seizing 10 grenades. A police spokesperson said the arrest followed intelligence of a potential militant attack in Pulwama town. A joint checkpoint by Pulwama SOG, 55RR, and CRPF 182Bn was set up in the evening on Pulwama’s Circular Road. During checks, Danish Bashir from Dangerpora, Pulwama, was stopped while travelling on a scooter.
15 CRPF personnel injured as vehicle falls into deep gorge in Budgam

Budgam: More than 15 CRPF personnel were injured in a road accident in the Pakherpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Thursday morning, officials reported. According to reports, the vehicle veered off the road and fell into a gorge near the Khaygam crossing in Pakherpora. The injured personnel were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is yet to be confirmed.

Awantipora: A woman died and seven others were injured in a road accident in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Sunday. The accident occurred at Chursoo Awantipora, resulting in injuries to eight people who were taken to PHC Awantipora. However, it was not immediately known in what circumstances the accident took place. At the PHC, doctors pronounced Sumi Jan, wife of Mudasir Ahmad Ganie from Panzgam, as brought dead.
Body found in orchard in Pulwama, police begins probe

Pulwama: An unidentified body was recovered in an orchard located in the Tujan area of Pulwama district. Eyewitness suggest that the deceased, who appeared to be in an unsound mental state, was seen wandering in the vicinity prior to the unfortunate discovery, Pulwama police said. The apparent cause of death is believed to be hypothermia, characterised by a critically low body temperature. The body was later transferred to the District Hospital Pulwama for post-mortem examination.

Pulwama: Four teachers were suspended and two of them arrested by police in Pulwama district of south Kashmir for their involvement in scuffle with a local resident of Inderwali who sustained injuries and was subsequentially hospitalised on September 21. The arrested teachers have been identified as Mohd Ismail Kulay, son of Mir Hussain Kulay, and Gulzar Ahmad Hajam, son of Gh Ahmad Hajam, both residents of Sangerwani, and currently posted at the aforementioned school.
