LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Governor Andy Beshear said that the death toll from the severe weather in May has now risen to 20 people. In a post on Facebook, Beshear said that a man from McCracken County passed away. Crews with the National Weather Service that surveyed confirmed there was a single, long-track tornado that was on the ground for nearly 50 miles. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A 16-year-old is in the hospital after a shooting in the Taylor Berry neighborhood Wednesday evening, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department. Officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Taylor Boulevard and Sale Avenue just after 6 p.m., LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old who had been shot in the arm.

The Homeless Coalition of Southern Indiana is working with the churches to offer a safe place to go. When the heat index reaches 100 degrees or higher, the churches will open their doors.
