Landers Boys FC of Bolari have emerged champions of the Gombe State League One competition organised by the state Football Association (FA). In the thrilling final decided over the weekend at the Pantami Township Stadium, Landers Boys edged Herwagana Stars 4-3 on penalties after regulation time ended in a 1-1 draw. As part of their preparations for the 2024/2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, Gombe United Football Club, popularly known as the Savannah Scorpions, have completed the mandatory medical tests for all players. The Gombe State Government says it will begin paying the N70,000 new national minimum wage with effect from October. The Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Negotiation Committee, Dr Manasseh Daniel Jatau, disclosed this on Thursday while briefing newsmen after a meeting with labour leaders in the state. He said the state government was ready to pay the new minimum wage from October, adding that a technical committee had been assigned to finalise the process within 72 hours.

This was contained in a statement issued Sunday by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
