Isanti will soon have a retail cannabis dispensary located on Main Street. During the Isanti City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 17, the council approved a cannabis products registration for Northern Crown to open a dispensary at 108 Main St. E, Suite 400, by a vote of 4-0.

The city of Cambridge’s summer street improvements will begin very soon. At a recent Cambridge City Council meeting, the council awarded its 2025 street improvement bid to the low bidder, Douglas-Kerr Underground based in Mora, in the amount of $6,845,727.

New Pathways is one step closer to breaking ground on a new facility in Cambridge to house families with children experiencing homelessness. Following a recent closed session, the Cambridge City Council voted 4-1, with Council Member Molly Christian casting the sole dissenting vote, to approve a purchase agreement with New Pathways, subject to final approval by the city administrator and city attorney.

An endowment fund, that will reach $500,000 after five years, is being created within the North Branch School District thanks to the generosity of a 1958 North Branch graduate and valedictorian. During the North Branch School Board meeting Thursday, June 12, Superintendent Sara Paul announced that Max Malmquist will be creating an endowment fund that will benefit students with an initial deposit of $100,000 to be set up and leveraged beginning with the 2025-2026 school year.

The city of Cambridge may see more affordable apartments units coming to fruition thanks to a St. Louis Park-based developer that has previously done work in the city. During the Cambridge City Council meeting Monday, June 2, Paul Keenan, vice president of development with Reuter Walton Development, approached the council about building two, 90-unit apartment buildings in the area north of Subway and the former Perkins building.
