A Quebec couple on trial for murder may have smuggled deadly poison in a Coca-Cola bottle, Noovo Info has learned. Jacques Adonai Charpentier, 41, and Mélissa Estimé, 24, were at the Montreal courthouse on Tuesday to face charges in the death of Odna Daudier, Charpentier’s ex-wife. According to court documents, Estimé traveled to the Dominican Republic to purchase the deadly poison one month before Daudier was found dead.

A 16-year-old boy is in hospital after a stabbing Tuesday evening in Montreal’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood. Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 6 p.m. about the incident on Barclay Street near Victoria Avenue. When officers arrived onsite, they found the teen with upper body injuries. He was conscious at the time, but Montreal police say he lost consciousness in the ambulance.

The Quebec government is launching its spring COVID-19 vaccination campaign in the hopes of reducing complications, hospitalizations and deaths in vulnerable populations. Vaccination against COVID-19 is free for all individuals aged six months and up. “The number of doses and the intervals between doses depend on the age, vaccination history and medical condition of the individual,” the government notes.

The student choir of F.A.C.E. school in downtown Montreal protested through song outside City Hall on Monday evening in an effort to convince officials to stop their century-old school from being rezoned and sold to private interests. “F.A.C.E. is a unique, bilingual, inter-generational school. As far as I know, it’s completely unique in this province,” said Victoria May, the parent of a F.A.C.E. student.
