    PENINSULA, Ohio (WOIO) - The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad canceled all six train departures for June 19 after severe storms caused flooding and trees to fall on the tracks. “The safety of our guests, volunteers, and crew is our top priority,” CVSR stated. CVSR said those who purchased ticket’s for Thursday’s rides will receive an email with rescheduling and refund options. “We appreciate your understanding as we work to clear the tracks and resume service safely,” said CVSR.

    ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol released body worn camera footage from the May 25 plane crash in Ashtabula County. OSHP identified 75-year-old Alan C. Kettunen of Geneva as the one who suffered fatal injuries from the crash. OSHP said the other occupant in the plane was a 59-year-old Madison man who suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

    MADISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - A Madison Township boy has been declared a hero after saving his friend’s life when he caught fire. The Madison Township Fire Department said firefighters were sent to Fairfax Avenue for a report of a burned child on June 2. Firefighters arrived to find a child was burned while playing with gasoline and fire, according to MTFD. Thankfully, Keith Rawlings, Jr. was there when it happened, said MTFD.

    BRIMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - A Richland Heights man, who was on parole for attempted murder and trafficking in drugs, led deputies in a 100 MPH pursuit through Portage and Summit counties before being found with cocaine, the sheriff said. The Portage County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened during the multi-agency criminal interdiction initiative conducted from June 2-6.
