It is common, at least where I’m from, to hear a call for "prayer requests" during a time of corporate prayer. This is usually followed by a list of health concerns and prayers for relief from physical ailments or times of trouble or sorrow. In the Bible, we see numerous examples of people crying out to God for help in their distress. The psalmist David often pleaded with God, "Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry for help come to You" (Psalm 102:1).

When I was a bit younger, I was into exercise and fitness (I still am but to a much lesser extent due to four back surgeries and three knee surgeries). I was in my 40s when I realized something had to give. I was overweight, medical problems were beginning to pile up on me, and I was pretty depressed about it. So I started walking. That turned into jogging (9 miles a day, 5 in the morning and 4 in the evening). Then I added working out at the gym. I lost 60 pounds in less than a year.
