American Family Association
The American Family Association (AFA) is a 501(c)(3) organization rooted in Christian fundamentalist beliefs, located in the United States. It actively opposes LGBT rights, pornography, and abortion, while also addressing various other public policy matters. Established in 1977 by Donald Wildmon under the name National Federation for Decency, the AFA is based in Tupelo, Mississippi. As a part of the religious right, the AFA describes itself as "a Christian organization advocating for the biblical principles of decency in American culture, with a focus on television and media." Over time, it shifted its emphasis to address "moral issues that affect families."
