He was considered a rising academic star at Holy Cross High School, and now Tahj Johnson is proving that the sky is the limit for those who work hard and nourish their minds. Johnson graduated from Harvard University with a concentration in government and economics. WDSU met the bright scholar when he was just 15 years old and an eighth grader at Holy Cross. Johnson had a 5.0 GPA and would go on to be the valedictorian of his graduating class. In high school, Johnson wanted to be a neurosurgeon.

Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer at the age of 6. DJ was given an unforgettable experience by the NOPD, including being awarded the Medal of Merit and chasing down criminals on the streets of New Orleans.

Growing up as a member of the Dooky Chase family, Nathan Haydel recounts his time in the kitchen as a kid. "We just had to drop the bag and get to drying," laughs Nathan Haydel.
