HOUSTON — Multiple people were shot in what police are calling a chaotic scene. When it was over, at least one person was dead and several others were in critical condition. Police said a total of 15 people were injured. The call came in a little before 1 a.m. about a shooting on Cherryhill, which is near the South Loop and Mykawa. Investigators said officers arrived within three minutes and were still hearing gunfire.

HOUSTON — A Houston woman is now facing federal charges after allegedly going after law enforcement with a machete. Jennifer Jesselle Perez-Rodriguez, 28, is in custody and is expected to make her initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dena Hanovice Palermo at 2 p.m. It stems from an incident back on April 17 on Houston’s south side. According to the criminal complaint, which is now unsealed, federal agents were on duty and traveling in unmarked vehicles.
