HOUSTON – Rodeo Houston icon Leon Coffee is stepping away from being a barrel man and clown after 31 years, but he said he will continue to be a part of the event and carry on with his mission to make people happy. “My rodeo career in Houston is the highlight of my career. Not everybody can get a really good rodeo. But, when you get them it takes a lot to keep them,” Leon said. He will take his last barrel ride on Sunday. But, he will still be part of the rodeo and be making people laugh.

Police were called to the 9800 block of Club Creek Drive around 1 a.m. due to a shooting. Authorities said they have video of a white sedan that fired several shots out of the car around this time. A man was later found dead on the side of the road with several gunshot wounds in his torso.

HUMBLE, Texas – The funeral for a North Shore High School football player, who died in a drive-by shooting while he was at a party, is going to be held on Saturday. 18-year-old Jarvon Coles died last weekend. His funeral is happening at The Light of the World Christian Fellowship Church in Humble, Texas.

The incident happened at a house in the 5900 block of Schroeder Road just after 1:30 a.m.Officers were dispatched regarding a shooting. When they arrived they learned a teen had been shot in the hip at a party. A group of unknown people had made it to the event earlier, and they got into an argument. Then, shots were fired, and the teen was struck.

ANGLETON, Texas – Strong storms moved through parts of Southeast Texas on Friday and left significant damage in Angleton, Texas. Large tree branches were down in a neighborhood near downtown. There was also a large metal part of a building down in downtown and other debris scattered across the area. Some parts of downtown were also without power Saturday morning. This was caused by the strong winds and rain on Friday. About 4,000 power outages were reported in Brazoria County as of 6:40 a.m. today.
