    Pinch me, Rick.     T.J. Otzelberger’s recruiting for next season just might be over – with Joshua Jefferson of St. Mary's committing to what could be another high-level Iowa State men’s basketball team. The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder who averaged 10.2 points and 6.5 rebounds during 26 starts before a knee injury sidelined him the final month of the season, announced Tuesday on social media he’s joining the Cyclones. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

    AMES – If you were looking for answers – for hints of what new coordinator Taylor Mouser’s offense might look like – you attended the wrong spring game scrimmage Saturday. We saw plenty of backups at skill positions on a chilly day inside very windy Jack Trice Stadium. We saw backups loaded with promise – but who have not quite yet reached the full-time starter amount of promise. From an offensive standpoint – that’s about all we saw.     Former Iowa State starting quarterback Hunter Dekkers, included in a state gambling probe in which some attorneys have termed involved a “warrantless search,” is back in action. After sitting out last season, Dekkers has enrolled at defending Iowa Western Community College, the defending junior college national champions. He is eligible for the 2024 season, according to the Reivers’ media relations department.
