Dallas-based Golden Chick is launching a first-of-its-kind restaurant prototype: a restaurant that's open 24 hours. The first location is now open at 2828 E. Ledbetter Dr., at Bonnie View Road. According to a release, the new concept the restaurant is designed to let customers get their chicken any time of day, and is the first Golden Chick to be open 24/7. Founded in Texas in 1967, Golden Chick specializes in chicken tenders, sandwiches, and roasted chicken.

A burger restaurant with a side of corny jokes is coming to Frisco: Called Dad Jokes Cheesyburger, it's a mom-and-pop that will open in the Frisco Rail District at 8981 2nd St., in the former LottieBird’s creperie space. Dad Jokes is from Clayton and Gabby Jones, who started the concept as a part-time food truck in 2024. Clayton came from the BBQ world, working for more than 20 years for Rudy's Bar-B-Q.

A new shop from Hawaii dedicated to matcha has debuted in DFW: Called Matcha Cafe Maiko, it serves matcha teas and matcha soft-serve ice cream, and has opened in a Frisco shopping strip at 9244 Prestmont Pl. #207. Matcha Cafe Maiko was founded in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2016. It’s owned by hospitality group Eight USA Inc. and has grown to 22 locations across the U.S., plus one location in Canada. This is the second location in Texas; there's also a shop in San Antonio that opened in 2020.
