For a few strides around the turn, Gibbons looked to get out wider but decided to abruptly switch back to the inside and that proved decisive as Hollywood Hero railed through to win the Charity Challenge Handicap (1600m). Gibbons is two months into his comeback from injury after he spent five months convalescing from a shoulder injury.

For trainer Joe Pride, it was more a case of maximising what was a gilt-edged opportunity for Storm The Ramparts given the heavy track conditions.
