Greetings!Sorry this is a bit late. Better late than never though, eh? But enough of this persiflage! On with the newsletter. TerryLast week I had an accident. I thought that while Lady Elaine was out with a group of friends, I’d cycle to a local park, there to read, relax and quaff coffee. However, Fate had other ideas. Here is a depiction of what happened:That is a bit of an exaggeration: what happened was far less dramatic. I was waiting for a gap in the traffic at a junction, perfectly still.

I sat down yesterday to write this missive, and before I’d reached the end of the second paragraph one of our cats leapt onto my lap, curled up, and promptly went to sleep. She’ll have to go. TerryLast week, while listening once again to the radio play The Investigator, I thought about how I learnt about it in the first place. It was from a teacher called Arnie Kurtz, who took the (compulsory) Liberal Studies classes in the college I attended to study for my ‘A’ Levels. My first encounter with Arnie was not promising.

Students have many opportunities to think about and experience counting — through read-alouds and their illustrations, counting collections, play, movement, singing and more. Choral Counting is another way for students to experience and think about counting. During a Choral Count, students say number names aloud and see those numbers written. As they move through the counting sequence — which can include teen numbers — a word is called out as its number is written.

A lorry passed me the other day, bearing the words “Portable Space” on the side. “Now that’s something I could do with”, I said to myself. Imagine being able to call a company to have them deliver some space.
