Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident on Reeds Lane, Moreton, yesterday evening, Monday (June 23). Fire crews were alerted at 7.04pm and on scene at 7.06pm with two fire engines attending. Upon arrival crews found a bonfire had spread to a fence. Firefighters used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and continued to damp down the scene, while monitoring temperatures and checking for fire spread. Crews left the scene at 8.11pm.

Dogs Trust Merseyside is urgently seeking a permanent home for Angel, a nine-year-old American Bulldog who has been waiting over 1,170 days for her forever family. Since her arrival in 2022, more than 19,00 people have applied to Dogs Trust Merseyside to adopt dogs, but nobody seems to want Angel. Angel has spent the last 15 months in a foster home with volunteer carers, and is described as having blossomed into a “laid-back dog”.

Owen Drew's Amalfi scent (Image: Owen Drew) A WIRRAL fragrance company has announced the return of its most “celebrated scent” as part of a “new chapter” for the brand. Founder of Owen Drew, Drew Cockton, died suddenly on October 22, 2022, at the age of 36. The businessman, who won funding on the hit BBC business show, Dragons' Den, for his vegan fragrance and candle brand, was found dead at his Claughton home from a "mixed drug overdose".

On Saturday, June 22 New Brighton RNLI celebrated the opening of their garden of reflection, a new project outside the New Brighton boathouse, created in association with New Brighton in Bloom. A small patch of land outside New Brighton boathouse, previously overgrown and disused, behind the stone and plaque commemorating New Brighton RNLI’s lifesaving record since the station’s inception in 1863, has now been transformed into a tranquil, public space, as a garden of reflection.
