Mumbai: Reasoning that a broken promise to marry does not automatically equate to abetment to suicide, a sessions court recently granted anticipatory bail to a 25-year-old man. A 24-year-old woman died by suicide in Dec 2024 after reportedly finding out that the man had been living with another woman and had multiple relationships. Additional sessions judge Satyanarayan Navande said according to the FIR, the man refused to continue with an intimate relationship with the woman in Aug-Sept 2024.

Mumbai: A sessions court on Friday rejected the bail plea of BEST bus driver Sanjay More (54) in connection with a tragic accident that resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. The court observed that there were several witnesses who gave statements about the accused driving the vehicle rashly and recklessly. Additional sessions judge VG Raghuwanshi said: "The offence is very serious, in which nine persons were killed, several persons were injured, and several vehicles were damaged.

Mumbai: Refuting the submissions of former state minister Dhananjay Munde's lawyer that at most the woman, who claimed to be his first wife, could be termed the man's "concubine," disentitling her to any relief, a sessions court said that prima facie he was in a relationship with the woman in the nature of marriage. The court also held that she gave birth to two children, which was not possible without them residing in a shared household.
