According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, Fried reached a massive eight-year, $218 million deal with the New York Yankees. It is the largest guaranteed contract in baseball history for a left-handed pitcher. In his eight seasons in Atlanta, Fried went 73-36 with a 3.07 ERA and two All-Star Game appearances. He helped anchor the Braves rotation that won the World Series in 2021.

ATLANTA — As No. 5 Georgia trails No. 2 Texas by a score of 6-3 at halftime, all eyes are on UGA quarterback Carson Beck after he injured his right throwing arm on the final play before halftime. Beck was attempting a deep shot into the end zone when he was hit from behind by a Texas defensive lineman in the middle of his throwing motion. Beck's injury is unclear. Head coach Kirby Smart told ESPN's Holly Rowe that they will have to evaluate Beck in the locker room.
