The Vankleek Hill Cougars will face the Gatineau-Hull Volant in the National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) finals, after a Game 7 semi-final 4-1 road win over the Westport Rideaus on Sunday evening (March 23). The Cougars, who finished the regular season in third place with a record of 23-9-1-1, will be on the road to face the first place Volant (30-3-1-0) in Game 1, which will be held at Centre Slush Puppie in Gatineau this Wednesday (March 26).

The Vankleek Hill Cougars will open their 2024-2025 National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) regular season this Saturday evening (September 21) with an important local match-up, as they host their cross-county rivals, the St-Isidore Eagles. The Cougars have high hopes for the 2024-2025 season, with a number of returning veterans and many promising newcomers added to a squad which made it to the NCJHL finals last season.

Perfect weather greeted music lovers and musicians, as hundreds of people spread out throughout Vankleek Hill for Porchfest 2024, which featured more than two dozen musical acts playing on porches, driveways and other locations throughout the village last Saturday (July 13).

A brief thunderstorm failed to dampen the high spirits at the Vankleek Hill Family Food Bank Jamboree last Saturday (July 6), as six musical acts performed to raise funds for the local charity organization. Headliners John & Biz closed out the night on a day of great music, played to a very appreciative audience from a outdoor stage at the rear of the Windsor Tavern. Preceding them were performances by Foreman & Company, 50 PROOF, Marven James and Matt Zoony, Gord Nixon, and Roger Hamelin.

The Vankleek Hill Cougars remain alive in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League finals, after a heart-stopping 5-4 overtime win over the Gatineau-Hull Volant on Sunday afternoon (March 31). Down three games to none in the series and trailing 4-2 in the third period, the Cougars thrilled a packed house at the Vankleek Hill Community Centre with an epic comeback victory. Jérémie Marcotte got the party started, bringing Vankleek Hill to within one goal by scoring at 8:20 of the third.
