BOONE, Iowa — The Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) softball team is a JUCO powerhouse. The Bears have reached the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II World Series 11 times in the last 12 years. But they're also known for producing elite slappers. "Slappers are left-handed hitters who we move through the box as we hit, and we use it to our advantage to try to throw off defenses," DMACC sophomore outfielder Breanna Caffery said.
