TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - We’re now learning more about how many buildings were lost due to the Cody Fire burning near Oracle. The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said five homes were destroyed, one was damaged, and eight other structures burned. Also on Saturday, the evacuation orders were lifted for some of the residents in Oracle. Residents in zones 5, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 19 were returned to SET status.

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The Marana Police Department says the church fire that happened late Friday, October 25, is being investigated as suspicious. The fire happened at the Living Word Baptist Church, which is near Grier and Sandario Roads and caused extensive damage to the building. “We watched it, and it really engulfed pretty fast,” said local Mark Holman, who was across the street when the fire erupted. “I was like, uh-oh, something might blow over here.

(13 News) - In light of the recent uptick in school threats, the Arizona Department of Education has announced more armed officers will be coming to campuses across the state thanks to $15 million in carryover dollars. “My nightmare is that some maniac is gonna come and kill 20 kids. It’s happened in other states, it could happen here,” said state Superintendent Tom Horne. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos feels it really depends on how this money will be used.
