    For the week, July corn was 2¢ higher, December corn fell 6¼, July soybeans were up 12½, November soybeans gained 17¾, July soybean meal lost $3.80 and July soybean oil soared 311 points.     Whether tar spot is a significant problem for corn growers this season is yet to be seen, but one thing you need to know – it is already showing up in some Midwest fields. The Crop Protection Network (CPN) reports the disease was found earlier this week (June 11) in two states: in the northeast corner of Kansas, Doniphan County, and in the northwest corner of Indiana, Porter County.

    Another Chinese national is accused of smuggling biological materials related to roundworms into the U.S. for work at a University of Michigan laboratory. This is the third such charge of a Chinese national by the U.S. federal government in a week. Chengxuan Han is charged with smuggling goods into the United States and making false statements, according to a criminal complaint, said the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan on Monday.

    Farmers will have a new foliar fungicide, Corteva Forcivo, to include in their disease management plans for the 2026 season, pending registration from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Forcivo will feature three modes of action – flutriafol, azoxystrobin and fluindapyr – to address foliar diseases in corn and soybeans via overlapping preventive and curative activity.
