I haven’t bought a car for 11 years so am seeking advice from strangers on the internet. I realise this is a ‘how long is a piece of string’ question so some qualifiers. PetrolFocus sizeish but not a Focus, one litre engine worries meAs new as poss. Economical (I do a fair number of miles)And of course, reliable with no known foibles. Not bothered about room for a bike ,I use a towbar rackPersonal experience would be valued!

Sorry. I know there’s always loads of threads like these, but trying to pick through them all for the nuggets of wisdom and advice for what I want/need is a bit time-consuming …So. Requirements:– Properly waterproof (rather than resistant/windproof) – it needs to stand up to long days of mixed weather/a few hours of sustained/heavy rain– Packable (as small/light as possible) – it will be used mainly for bike-packing and long days out).

Depressing day, booked some holiday and was informed it meant I had no more days remaining after. Have booked 12 days. Christmas shutdown and bank holidays take up the remaining 16 days. Go on depress me further, how much do you get? I tried to find statistics to show what the average holiday entitlement was, to see if it was more (I suspect so), but searchFU failed me. Did find out, to my shock and horror, only 34% of men used all of their holiday entitlement in 2023. Does not compute.
