Tennessee will host 2027 prospect Cooper Witten on a visit during a recruiting event this weekend, according to a report from VolQuest’s Matt Ray on Tuesday. Witten is the son of Tennessee and Dallas Cowboys legend Jason Witten. While his name holds weight in conversation, his impressive recruiting ranking was built from his talent on the field. On3 Sports’ Industry Rankings have Witten as a four-star linebacker in the 2027 class.

Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello and infielder Andrew Fischer met with the media on Tuesday as the Volunteers prepare for the Knoxville Regional on Rocky Top this weekend. Vitello’s group earned the No. 14 national seed in the tournament reveal this past Monday and will welcome in two-seed Wake Forest, three-seed Cincinnati, and four-seed Miami (OH) into Lindsey Nelson Stadium this weekend.

Former Tennessee ballplayer Griffin Merritt will have a split suitcase when he arrives in town for the Knoxville Regional this weekend. On Sunday night, Tennessee was revealed as one of the 16 host sites for the regional round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. On Monday, the NCAA announced that Tennessee’s group will consist of 2-seed Wake Forest, 3-seed Cincinnati, and 4-seed Miami (OH).

Starting with Cameron Carr’s departure from the program in December and ending with the slew of graduates leaving in the spring, Tennessee Basketball’s roster will look completely different this fall than it did heading into the preseason in 2024. From a numbers perspective, Tennessee lost eight players, six of whom were on-court contributors for Rick Barnes’ squad this past season.
