RADNOR — Radnor officials are warning about a new scam targeting people who have had certain businesses before the township. In the scam, someone is sending fake invoices using information they’ve likely copied from Radnor Township’s website to request funds that look like standard township fees. The scammers are then requesting the money for the fake fees be wired to an unknown entity.

LOWER MERION — On Monday, April 14 at 2:35 p.m., Narberth Fire Department, assisted by an engine from the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore, responded to a car fire at the Montgomery Avenue, Penn Road and Cherry Lane intersection. Arriving fire crews found a car with heavy fire in the engine compartment. The fire quickly spread into the passenger area. Both responding fire companies and units from the Lower Merion Police Department worked to extinguish the fire. There were no reported injuries.

LOWER MERION — Fire crews were called to a fire at the Main Line Quality Dry Cleaners, 110 Cricket Ave. in Ardmore Saturday, April 12 shortly after 8 a.m. According to fire officials, when the first engine from the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore arrived on location, the deputy chief reported heavy smoke in the building. A command post was set up for a working fire. All other Lower Merion companies were alerted to respond.

LOWER MERION - With the planned closing of the Ardmore Pool this summer, Lower Merion officials have been trying to find alternatives to help residents beat the summer heat. Now, Lower Merion officials say they have found a way to help some township residents this summer. During a special board meeting this week, the commissioners approved a letter of understanding with the Kaiserman JCC in Wynnewood.

LOWER MERION - In the hopes of making it easier to understand, Lower Merion officials are considering making some changes to its ordinance regulating dogs in parks. Donna Heller, director of parks and recreation for Lower Merion, spoke about the proposed changes at a recent committee meeting. "Right now, we have a very complicated ordinance with different areas where dogs are permitted and not permitted in parks," Heller said.
