Marcum Wealth’s specialty in business transition planning was a key factor in Wealth Enhancement’s (WE) recent decision to buy, the latter firm’s chief strategy officer, Jim Cahn, told Citywire. Citywire reported last week that WE had agreed to buy the Cleveland RIA, which had previously been owned by national accounting firm Marcum LLP. WE has since said that the deal should close in May and that Marcum Wealth had about $4.3bn in client assets as of December 2024.

Kestra Holdings-backed RIA aggregator Bluespring Wealth Partners has acquired a $440m Wisconsin RIA, putting an end to a messy succession process at the target firm that included a 2020 workplace shooting in which a retired president and former owner shot one of his successors in the head. Based in Brookfield, Wis., Charter Capital Management (CCM) was formerly run by Lauren E. Toll, who had been the firm’s sole owner from 1990 to 2011.

Focus is one of a handful of bidders on Churchill, a source told Citywire, and no transaction between the two sides is imminent.

A Merchant Investment Management-backed M&A marketplace has revealed a partnership with an investment bank that joined Merchant’s network last year. Fin.Link said it has partnered with Republic Capital Group, which provides M&A advisory services, mostly for wealth management firms. Formerly known as Succession Link, Fin.Link revealed a rebrand and enhanced platform features in November of 2024. Those features have included a job board for financial professionals and new valuation tools.
