Mr Price had been conscripted to fight in World War Two and he sent a box of French make-up to his mum, who had desperately tried to protect him from being made to join the front line. He never returned home to Hadley, near Telford, as he was fatally wounded in Germany a few months later and died aged 19.

A cafe says it will rename a breakfast in honour of teenage darts sensation Luke Littler after he visited for the most important meal of the day. The 17-year-old sat down for breakfast at Truffles in Ironbridge, Shropshire, on Saturday morning. The next day he went on to win the Grand Slam of Darts with a 16-3 thrashing of Martin Lukeman in Wolverhampton. Owner Jenny Barratt told BBC Radio Shropshire her tasty meal could have been the fuel that sparked his success.
