NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Caesars Superdome lit up the New Orleans skyline Saturday night with a dazzling laser show, marking the start of Super Bowl LIX celebrations. The spectacle is part of a week-long lead-up to Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9, where the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles. Alongside the laser show, the St. Louis Cathedral will also have a nightly light show further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A massive bomb sweep is set to begin on Saturday night, Feb. 1, in and around the Caesars Superdome as security tightens ahead of the Super Bowl. According to Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Jessica Zupardo, more than 100 federal K9 units from across the country will be deployed to detect potential threats. This is the first of several sweeps planned throughout the week.
