The district saw record-high participation in the survey, with students making up the majority of responses. The survey was developed by a budget survey committee consisting primarily of parents and received more than 2,300 responses.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- David Leonard Wood, the man known as El Paso's "Desert Serial Killer," has had his execution stayed by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. The execution was scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2025. The next action from the court has not been scheduled yet, pending further orders from the court. ABC-7 had been planning to travel to Huntsville, Texas for the execution. We have been reporting on the case in the days leading up to the planned execution.

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Open records connected to the Sun Metro bus explosion requested by ABC-7 have just been released. The records reveal for the first time that the vehicle that exploded was a bus. The records also list those injured in the explosion. They are Ricardo Morales, Cruz Javier Castro, Veronica Mejia, Daniel Meza, Victor Adrian Ramirez Soria, Edith Berenice Ramirez, and the two Sun Metro employees who died, German Garcia and Ruben Ibarra.

Update (March 6, 2025): FBI El Paso released the following statement regarding the diversion:“The investigation into the diverted Sun Country flight from Minneapolis to El Paso, determined a threatening handwritten note was found on the airplane alleging 'You Are All Going to Die, Help Me.' This handwritten note prompted passengers to report the note to the flight crew.
