UPDATE: El Paso Police confirm an officer fired at a man who shot at them. One officer is at UMC in stable condition after being shot by a man. The officers were responding to a family violence call in the 6400 block of Passo Via St. in the Upper Valley. Police say that's when the officers returned fire, hitting the man who later died. The Texas Rangers are at the scene investigating, which is the normal protocol when an officer is involved in a shooting.
