EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- CBP officers arrested a 22-year-old American man accused of smuggling 20.1 pounds of cocaine inside his car. CBP officials say the officers caught the man at the Ysleta Port of Entry on Wednesday morning. A secondary examination revealed drugs stuck in the firewall and dashboard of the man's truck. Officials say a drug-sniffing dog helped find the packages, which tested positive for cocaine. Officers then seized the drugs.

"Marathon has a longstanding reputation for community engagement and is thrilled to helpsupport the mission of Hospice El Paso," an organizer for the event explained. Organizers say the donation from Marathon also includes an ambulance.

Hanany and her fellow trustees debated Superintendent Diana Sayavedra's future with the district in a meeting on Tuesday. Copas, who the DA's Office says died after a medical episode in March, was charged with the June 2023 murder of Daniel Piedra. Piedra was serving as Copas' Uber driver when investigators say she shot him. Copas had claimed self-defense when she was arrested.
