Aaron Rodgers makes sure he’s not out of the spotlight for long. In his first appearance on The Pat McAfee Show since his New York Jets release, Rodgers went in tell-all mode — and, predictably, the Jets took many broadsides. The quarterback went in on newly hired head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey. He described how the Jets flew him in from Los Angeles only to essentially tell him within “20 seconds” that they were going in a different direction.

Another year, another what “could have been” for Garrett Wilson. New York Jets fans like to believe that Wilson is one of the top receivers in the NFL. So do fans of many other teams, for that matter. After all, Wilson has put up Catch of the Year-worthy receptions in back-to-back seasons and has a flashy reputation from when he burst onto the scene as the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2022. From that perspective, the Fields signing can certainly raise some eyebrows.

Before the 2024 season, Davante Adams’ trade to the New York Jets seemed all but inevitable. But it should not have been. The whole idea of this Jets season was supposed to be to compete for a championship. It was one last go-for-broke attempt. That’s why ex-general manager Joe Douglas deferred so much cap money to the future and signed veterans with injury concerns but high upside to incentive-laden deals. Trading for Adams would have fit into that vision.

Never mind which player the New York Jets will target with their first-round pick — what position will they target? It seems that each mock draft has a different idea. However, a recent NFL.com mock draft from Bucky Brooks echoed an earlier one from ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. Brooks projected the Jets to select Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams at No. 7 overall. Brooks wrote, “Aaron Glenn understands and appreciates the value of a disruptive defensive front.
